WVU LB Reid Carrico Remains Questionable for Backyard Brawl
PITTSBURGH – Adding more salt to West Virginia’s wounds heading into the Backyard Brawl, it’s possible another top player will be unavailable on Saturday. WVU linebacker Reid Carrico is unlikely to play for the Mountaineers.
Already known as among the injured players, On3 Sports’ Pete Nakos reported Carrico as “questionable” on Friday morning. And while this report isn’t exactly new information, especially since WVU head coach Rich Rodriguez mentioned Carrico’s status as being unknown during his weekly press conference on Tuesday, it still adds to the uncertain nature of the roster.
Carrico left West Virginia’s 17-10 loss to Ohio last Saturday. He logged one total tackle prior to his exit from the game. To this point, Carrico has recorded five tackles and a sack.
After transferring to WVU from Ohio State, Carrico posted 54 total tackles and a forced fumble as a Mountaineer during the 2024 season

Jahiem White and Jaden Bray, who also endured injuries in the loss to the Bobcats, have been announced as out for the rest of the season.
