WVU Basketball’s staff offered 2026 five-star guard Alijah Arenas on Wednesday afternoon. Arenas is a top five prospect in his class.

Alijah is also the son of three-time NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas.

Arenas (6-foot-4) currently plays at Chatsworth High School in California. Arenas has received offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Fresno State, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Ole Miss, Texas, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Washington, Washington State, West Virginia, Xavier and others.

During his sophomore season, Arenas averaged 33.0 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists through 35 games. Arenas is averaging 31.8 pints through his 62 games in high school.

247 Sports has Arenas as the fourth-best recruit in the 2026 class.

West Virginia’s new staff has offered plenty of 2025 and 2026 prospects over the past week. It seems like high school recruiting will be a priority once the staff is completed rebuilding the current roster.
