DePaul transfer Pauly Paulicap, one of the newest basketball transfers joining WVU basketball, has been cleared to play for the Mountaineers in the 2021-22 season, Jon Rothstein of CBSSports has reported.

Paulicap (6-foot-8, 220 pounds) has played around the collegiate landscape, starting his college career at NJCAA Harcum College before moving to Manhattan College for three seasons and eventually winding up at DePaul last season. With one season of eligibility left, Paulicap will spend his last season of college ball at WVU.

In 19 games, 15 starts, last season, Paulicap scored 7.2 points and grabbed 6.2 rebounds per game on 55% shooting. His 24 blocks were second on the team. In 72 games for Manhattan, he averaged 9.9 points and 6.4 rebounds with 148 blocked shots.

Paulicap should provide a defensive presence for WVU this season, with both Oscar Tshiebwe and Derek Culver both leaving the team. Paulicap, along with Old Dominion transfer Malik Curry and Florida International transfer Dimon Carrigan have joined WVU this offseason.
