WVU Walk-Ons Jay Moore and Spencer Macke Enter NCAA Transfer Portal
West Virginia men’s basketball is losing two walk-ons as both Jay Moore and Spencer Macke entered the NCAA transfer portal this week.
Macke, a sophomore, played in 10 career games with the Mountaineers. His departure was first reported by Bob Hertzel. A fan-favorite, Macke has two memorable moments as in 2019-20. He scored his first career points on free throws against Nichols State while the fans in the WVU Coliseum chanted his name and was carried off the court by his teammates after making his first career 3-point later in the season against Texas.

Macke finishes his WVU career with eight total points on 2-of-12 shooting.
Moore, an in-state product from Beckley, spent just one season with WVU. He played in three games and scored two points on free throws. He announced his transfer on Twitter Thursday afternoon.

Macke and Moore are the fourth and fifth players to transfer away from WVU since the start of last season. Center Oscar Tshiebwe transferred to Kentucky mid-season and after the season, point guard Jordan McCabe transferred to UNLV and wing Emmitt Matthews Jr. transferred to Washington.
