Garrett Greene leaves Pitt game

MORGANTOWN, W.Va – Bad news early on in the Backyard Brawl for WVU and quarterback Garrett Greene.

On WVU’s second offensive possession, Greene was knocked down and left the game. He was visibly limping off the field and then went into the blue medical tent. He was wearing street clothes on the sidelines in the second half.

Nicco Marchiol took over under center for WVU on a drive that ended in the Mountaineers turning the ball over on downs.

We will offer further updates on Greene’s status as we learn more information. WVU leads 7-6 in the third quarter.
