McNeil shot 9-of-15 from the field, on Saturday. The Kentucky native shot 4-of-6 from three and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. McNeil played 36 minutes against the Wildcats.
McNeil was coming off a 12-point performance versus Texas last Saturday, without his leading scorer Taz Sherman. With Sherman back, as well as Gabe Osabuohien and Kobe Johnson, McNeil didn’t try to force anything. And, it paid off.
“[By] just letting the game come to me,” McNeil said postgame. “I have trust in my teammates and I know they have trust in me, so I was never trying to force [anything].”
