West Virginia can’t just get over the hump. The Mountaineers were voted just outside of the Associated Press top 25 poll that was released on Monday afternoon. WVU was voted at No. 29, receiving 20 vote points.

This marks the fifth-straight week where West Virginia was considered, but is still looking in from the outside of the top 25. The Mountaineers are 12-2 (1-1 Big 12), defeating Kansas State, 71-68, last Saturday. WVU has another opportunity for a great road win when the team travels to Kansas on Saturday. West Virginia’s most notable wins are UConn (56-53), UAB (65-59), Clemson (66-59), and Oakland (60-53).

Big 12 Top 25 Rankings:

No. 1 – Baylor
No. 9 – Kansas
No. 15 – Iowa State
No. 19 – Texas Tech
No. 21 – Texas
Receiving Vote Points: Oklahoma (122), West Virginia (20)
