WVU’s Trent Michaels Promoted to Coordinator of Basketball Operations

WVU men’s basketball announced on Wednesday morning that Trent Michaels has been promoted to Coordinator of Basketball Operations. Michaels spent this past season serving as a graduate assistant after four years as the team’s manager.

“Thankful to Bob Huggins and the staff for this opportunity. Let’s get to work,” Michaels wrote on Twitter.

Michaels is a native of Pittsburgh and recently received a master’s in sport management at WVU.

West Virginia’s coaching staff has shifted after South Carolina State hired former assistant Erik Martin to become their head coach. Josh Eilert takes over Martin’s role while Jay Kuntz moves to Director of Player/Personnel Recruiting and Jared Kortsen moved to Video Coordinator.
