Report: West Virginia to Compete in 2023 Fort Myers Tip-Off
West Virginia is set to compete in the Fort Myers Tip-Off in Nov. 2023, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. SMU, Virginia and Wisconsin are reportedly the other three teams for the invitational.
No date has been set yet for the event but the 2022 field is competing from Nov. 22-24, so expect a similar date for 2023.
West Virginia has most recently played Virginia in 2017 and Wisconsin in 2014. The Mountaineers have never matched up with SMU in basketball.
This upcoming season WVU is competing in the Phil Knight Legacy tournament during Thanksgiving weekend. West Virginia will take on Purdue in the first round on Nov. 24 with the winner facing Gonzaga or Portland State.
