2025 5-star F Alier Maluk will be heading from the basketball court to the gridiron as he will be in attendance for the Backyard Brawl between West Virginia and Pitt on Thursday night, he tells WV Sports Now. The basketball prospect has received offers and unofficially visited both schools.

The Imani Christian forward was offered by West Virginia’s coaching staff on Aug. 2 and unofficially visited campus on Aug. 20.

“I went to coach Huggins’ office. We talked for a little while. He talked about former players, players in the NBA. He likes my motor,” Maluk told WV Sports Now. “The design, the layout of the practice facility. It looks like the NBA.”

Maluk (6-foot-10, 180 pounds) is currently entering his sophomore year at Imani Christian Academy in Pittsburgh. The highly touted prospect holds offers from Auburn, LSU, NC State, Pitt, Seton Hall, Texas A&M, West Virginia and others. Maluk told WV Sports Now that he plans on scheduling visits to Cincinnati and Michigan in the near future.

Maluk unofficially visited Pitt on Aug. 2 and had a good time at his hometown school.
