2026 4-Star Safety Granting WVU Football Chance with Upcoming OV

A highly coveted safety has an official visit scheduled with West Virginia, providing an opportunity for the WVU football staff to steal a recruiting win away from a couple other Big 12 contemporaries.
Chance Collins, a 2026 product of Mansfield Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas, revealed his upcoming trip to West Virginia on social media. Collins will be in town to tour the facility and meet with the coaches throughout the weekend of June 10-12.

Most major recruiting services believe Collins will commit to either Oklahoma State or Utah, with the Utes as the front runner. But Collins’ visit will allow West Virginia a chance to win him over and make him a future Mountaineer instead.
WVU sent Collins an offer towards the end of January. He then visited for the first time in late March.
Awesome time at West Virginia!!

Collins also has prominent offers from schools like Arizona, Houston, Michigan State, Oregon State, Pitt, TCU, Texas Tech and several others.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, Collins is a consensus four-star and ranked as one of the top 50 players in Texas. On3 Sports even has the industry average for Collins with him as the 31st best safety in the country and No. 39 Texas prospect for his class.
Collins recorded 20 tackles and made six interceptions in 2024 while also racking up 310 yards and scoring a pair of touchdowns as a receiver.
