Asti’s Week 6 Top 25 College Football Rankings

Published

on

The 2022 college football season has hit the midway point of the season so we’re getting a good idea of the true contenders and legitimate teams throughout college football.

The Top 25 will have some changes because a number of ranked teams played each other. More changes will be coming too with some of the top teams facing tough tests in the coming weeks.

Next week things will get interesting as we have a few really good matchups of top teams as Penn State takes on Michigan. Tennessee hosts Alabama, Utah hosts USC, Kentucky hosts Mississippi State and Florida State hosts Clemson.

Before we get to those games, here’s a look at my latest Top 25 rankings.

ASTI’s TOP 25 RANKINGS

1.) Georgia – I’ve had the defending champs in the top spot all year and they haven’t even had a glimpse of a hiccup yet.
2.) Ohio State – I get Bryce Young didn’t play, but Alabama hasn’t looked anywhere as good as in past year. Ohio State has been the second best team to this point. A win for Bama over Tennessee likely switches them back around though.
3.) Alabama – No matter what, Bama is staying in the top 4. They have a big test against Tennessee coming up and better play much better or could easily lose.
4.) Michigan – The Wolverines started out slow but eventually pulled away from Indiana, 31-10. The big game is next Saturday as they host Penn State.
5.) Clemson – Clemson continues to get better but we’ll find out a lot about them the next 3 weeks with matchups against Florida State, Syracuse and at Notre Dame.

6) Tennesse
7) Oklahoma State
8) USC
9) Penn State
10) Ole Miss
11) NC State
12) UCLA
13) TCU
14) Wake Forest
15) Mississippi State
16) Oregon
17) Texas
18) Kansas State
19) Kentucky
20) North Carolina
21) Syracuse
22) BYU
23) Kansas
24) Cincinnati
25) Baylor

I’m going Baylor over Utah to be ranked. Baylor’s two losses are both against ranked teams. That bumps them in. Yes, Utah has an extra win but Baylor was on a bye. The Bears obviously have to beat WVU or they will drop out for good though.
