Backyard Brawl is Moved Up a Little Closer

West Virginia and Pitt announced on September 10^th, 2015 to return the Backyard Brawl on September 17^th, 2022.

Athletic director’s Shane Lyons and Pitt’s Heather Lyke announced today that they moved up the game to the opening weekend of the 2022 season to, September 3rd at Heinz Field.

The series is still only four games with the first game starting off in Pittsburgh, then alternating, but with communications still going on between the two schools, it would not be surprising to see them extend the series in the future.

Pitt leads the all-time series 61-40, but West Virginia is 14-6 in their last twemty meetings and have won three in a row.
