Best Virginia Adds WVU Blocks-Leader Sagaba Konate for 2021 TBT
The career leader all-time in blocked shots at West Virginia, Sagaba Konate, is joining the Best Virginia Roster for the upcoming 2021 TBT, the team announced on Twitter Monday.

Konate, who last played for the Mountaineer in 2018-19 left as the all-time leader with 191 career blocked shots. The 6-foot-8 big man also became just the second Mountaineer ever to eclipse 100 blocks in a single season with 116 in 2017-18, joining D’or Fischer.
Over his three-year college career, Konate averaged 8.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in 81 career games. In 2017-18, his only season as a full-time starter, Konate averaged 10.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.2 blocks.
Konate left WVU to turn pro following the 2018-19 season and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Toronto Raptors. After one season in the G-League, Konate went overseas, most recently playing in Spain and Greece.
Also on the Best Virginia roster for the 2021 TBT are Teyvon Myers, John Flowers, Kevin Jones, Tarik Phillip, Juwan Staten and Nathan Adrian. The team will be coached by WVU Tech head coach James Long and assistants Dave Tallman and Da’Sean Butler.
Best Virginia will play in the TBT West Virginia Regional on July 17-21 this summer at the Charleston Coliseum. Also competing in the regional will be the Marshall Alumni team Herd That. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
