Big 12 Football Roundup: WVU Jumps Up Conference Standings While Off

The Mountaineers may be experiencing a much-needed week off, but the Big 12 still had teams in action throughout the weekend.

West Virginia was actually even able to move up the standings despite not playing. WVU will head into the next week as one of only two teams still undefeated in Big 12 play. Oklahoma’s win over Texas in the “Red River Rivalry” moves WVU team up the standings and places them just behind the Sooners.

So how did the rest of the conference perform?

Big 12 Results

Oklahoma beat Texas, 34-30

Kansas dominated UCF, 51-22

Iowa State shocked TCU, 27-14

And on Friday night…

Oklahoma State upset Kansas State, 29-21 

In addition to West Virginia, BYU, Cincinnati and WVU’s upcoming opponent Houston were also on a bye week.

Neal Brown and the Mountaineers will take on former WVU head coach Dana Holgorsen and the Cougars in Houston on Thursday, October 12, Kickoff is set for 7 pm ET from John O’Quinn Field at TDECU Stadium. The game will be televised nationally on FS1.
