Sitting at 4-1 after five games and on a bye this week has WVU feeling good and in a pretty solid position early in the season. With that said, collapsing down the stretch would destroy the surprising strong start.

After the bye, West Virginia has a Thursday night date with Dana Holgorsen in Houston. After that, it’s back home to face a struggling Oklahoma Sate. From there, UCF, BYU, Oklahoma, Cincinnati and Baylor remain on the schedule.

Many who doubted the Mountaineers before the season now feel most of those matchups are winnable for WVU. On the flip side, West Virginia will be on the road more often than they are home the rest of the season. Three out of WVU’s four early wins have been in Morgantown at Milan Puskar Stadium.
