PORTLAND — With West Virginia’s 89-71 win over Portland State, WVU head coach Bob Huggins sits alone in third for all-time wins. Huggins, who now has 921 wins, tied UConn legend Jim Calhoun last Friday and passed him today.

Calhoun won three national championships with the Huskies in 1999, 2004 and 2011. Huggins now only trails Mike Krzyzewski (1,202 wins) and Jim Boeheim (999 wins).

Huggins enters his 16th season as West Virginia’s men’s basketball head coach. The West Virginia native is second all-time in wins at WVU behind Gale Catlett, who has 439 wins. Huggins has coached West Virginia to a Final Four appearance in 2010 as well as 4-Sweet 16’s.

Huggins will look for win No. 922 when West Virginia plays Florida in Portland on Sunday.
