Breaking: West Virginia Football Names Garrett Greene Starting QB Against Kansas State
The decision West Virginia fans have been waiting for has finally been made.
Garrett Greene will get the start at quarterback today for the Mountaineers, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Sources: West Virginia will make a change at starting quarterback today, with redshirt sophomore Garrett Greene making his first career start. Greene sparked WVU off the bench in an upset of Oklahoma last week and will replace JT Daniels as WVU starter. https://t.co/1YbWuRQP0t

The sophomore sparked the team to the program’s first win over Oklahoma since joining the Big 12 last week. He came in for JT Daniels, who has been starting all season, and completed 12 out of 22 pass attempts for 138 yards and a score. He also rushed for 119 yards and two touchdowns.
Daniels was only seven for 12 for 65 yards with an interception during his time in the game. After some brief flip flopping, Greene remained the second half.
It’s unclear if this means Daniels has been benched or will still see game action. WVU head coach Neal Brown did respond “that’s fair” when asked if both will play regardless who gets the start after last week’s game.
WVU and Kansas State will kickoff at 2 pm EST and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
