The final details are set for the WVU baseball team in their opening game of the 2026 College World Series.

West Virginia will meet Troy on Friday, June 12, at 2 p.m. ET. The game will air on ESPN and WVU will be the designated home team.

As far as the rest of the opening weekend, the winner of the game between the Mountaineers and Trojans will take on the winner of the North Carolina vs. Ole Miss game on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. The losers of the two games will play an elimination game on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.

For Troyโ€™s path to Omaha, the Trojans hosted their Super Regional after knocking out national title contenders like Florida and Miami during the opening weekend; they swept Little Rock 2-0, winning 7-2 and 12-2 to punch their ticket for Omaha. Troy finished second in the Sun Belt Tournament and went 38-30 on the season, the first 30-loss team to make it to Omaha in nearly two decades.

As such, WVU Baseball will continue to face a schedule perceived as easy: they managed to duck No. 1 overall seed UCLA, who washed out in the first round, instead hosting โ€” and dominating โ€” Cal Poly. The Mountaineers outscored the Mustangs 29-3 in the series.
