Experienced Transfer LB Set to Visit WVU Football
A defensive coordinator is now in place, but the roster is still a work in progress. And soon after West Virginia officially announced the hiring of Zac Alley, a report surfaced about a transfer linebacker set to visit the WVU football program.
James Djonkam, an Eastern Michigan transfer, has a trip to West Virginia on his calendar, per 247 Sports.
A Springfield, Va. native, Djonkam recorded 98 total tackles, three pass deflections and a forced fumble during the 2024 season, his lone year with Eastern Michigan. He transferred from Arizona State after the 2023 season. He totaled 35 tackles at ASU.
“I want to thank Eastern Michigan for giving me the chance to live my dream. Iโm grateful for everyone on the staff. After being blessed with another year of eligibility, Iโve decided to enter the transfer portal with one year left!,” said Djonkam while announcing his intentions to transfer again on Dec. 24.
In addition to WVU, Djonkam also has visits scheduled with Michigan State and Virginia Tech.
