Arizona Cardinals fans will no longer hear a Mountaineer call their games. WVU football alum Ron Wolfley is stepping away from his role as Arizona’s radio color analyst after 20 seasons.

“The game of football is in my blood,” Wolfley said as he announced the move at the end of his “Wolf and Luke” radio show on Friday as documented by the AZCardinals.com. “I come from a football family. “God used football in my life, and I am so grateful to him for allowing me to strap on the boots and bloody up the knuckles.

“But it’s time to slow down. Be a father. Be present with my kids. And serve my God and my family better,” he said.

Wolfley, 62, a New York native, played at WVU as a running back and full back from 1981-84. He was then drafted in the fourth round of the 1988 NFL Draft.

Wofley made four Pro Bowls in the NFL as a full back and special teamer with the Cardinals. He then spent time with the Cleveland Browns and the then St. Louis Rams.

Ron is the brother of the late beloved Mountaineer Dale Wofley and former NFL player and current color analyst with the Steelers Craig.
