Mountaineers in the Pros

Former WVU Stars Jevon Carter, Miles ‘Deuce’ McBride Meet in Pivotal NBA Matchup

Once West Virginia fans fall in love with a player, they will root for him forever.

Mountaineer Nation has an opportunity to watch two WVU basketball greats in one game tonight when Miles “Deuce” McBride and the New York Knicks welcome Jevon Carter and the Milwaukee Bucks to Madison Square Garden for an Eastern Conference showdown.

Partly thanks to Carter taking his game to another level this season after receiving more minutes, the Bucks enter the day sitting at the top of the Central Division at 25-14. Milwaukee is coming off a bad 138-109 loss to Charlotte. Carter had 8 points in the game.

The Bucks need to get back winning though since they are only up there thanks to win percentage and have the Cleveland Cavaliers nipping on their heels with more games played so far at 26-15.

As for McBride and the Knicks, New York is in the midst of a four-game win streak and does hold a playoff spot right now as a seven seed. New York did endure a long losing skid after their last win streak, so the key for the Knicks is to not let that happen again. McBride scored nine points and was a +14 in New York’s last game on Friday night against Toronto.

Unfortunately for WVU fans keeping tabs on these two Mountaineers while in the pros or just out of market basketball fans in general, Knicks-Bucks is not a nationally televised game. It will air locally and could be cut into on NBATV.
