Four-Star OL Layth Ghannam Lists West Virginia in Top Four

Published

on

Four-star 2023 offensive lineman Layth Ghannam (6-foot-5, 280-pounds) has listed West Virginia in his top four. Ghannam is an in-state recruit from Charleston, West Virginia.

Ghannam released his top four earlier today and included North Carolina and Virginia Tech alongside West Virginia. He is set to make his decision this Saturday at 10 a.m.

Ghannam took his official visit to West Virginia this past weekend, so the fact that he is committing so shorty after this is a good sign for West Virginia.

However 247Sports projects that he will commit to rival Virginia Tech, so maybe him announcing his commitment so soon after his official visit to West Virginia means absolutely nothing.

West Virginia was his second official visit taken in the recruiting cycle. Ghannam visited North Carolina all the way back on May 20. He is scheduled to take his official visit to the other two schools in his top four on June 16 (NC State) and June 24 (Virginia Tech).

Ghannam’s lone four-star rating comes from On3 while both Rivals and 247Sports have him listed as a three-star recruit. Regardless, if he were to commit to West Virginia he’d be the eighth recruit for what is starting to look like a strong recruiting class of 2023 for West Virginia.
