Hitting Machine GSU Transfer Sean Smith Commits to WVU Baseball

As Steve Sabins continues to have success in the transfer portal, he landed another commitment to retool his WVU baseball lineup for next season. Georgia Southern outfielder Sean Smith revealed his commitment on Sunday afternoon.
First reported by the On the Clock College Baseball and MLB Draft account, Smith will look to cap off his college career as a Mountaineer.

Smith is coming off a 2025 season in which he slashed .352/.458/.599 while hitting nine home runs, nine doubles, a couple triples and recording 36 RBI as Georgia Southern’s designated hitter.
He hit .321 the year prior in 2024 and .339 overall in his two seasons at GSU. Before those years, Smith attended Mississippi State Gulf Coast as a freshman and was ranked as the No. 10 first baseman in the country out of high school.
