WVU Baseball Picks Up 2026 Infielder With MLB Bloodlines

WVU Baseball earned the commitment of 2026 prospect Kayden Lipscomb on Saturday, June 28, a 6-foot-1, 175 pound recruit out of Frederick, Md. Lipscomb announced his decision in an Instagram post.
Lipscomb’s older brother, Trey, plays for the Washington Nationals, which speaks to his potential athletic ceiling. He clocked a 6.7 second 60-yard dash at a recent baseball showcase, dotting 85 miles per hour on the radar gun on an infield throw. He also logged a 94 mile per hour exit velocity.
The Mountaineers are turning into a recruiting powerhouse, with their 2025 class ranked as the seventh-best in the nation. Adding a player of Lipscomb’s talent should help them continue that success into following seasons.
