Best Virginia has its first player, with former WVU Mountaineer Kedrian Johnson committing to play in this summer’s TBT.

“I’m in, I’m excited to play in front of our fans again,” Johnson told John Flowers on a recent episode of The Final Fourcast. “That was one of my best feelings being in Morgantown, the fans everynight wether we wrrwe winning or loseing, they showed up to show love.

Johnson, who has played previously with Best Virginia, also said he’s trying to recruit some of his former WVU teammates to join BV like Emmitt Matthews, Gabe Osabuohien and Sean McNeil.

Kedrian Johnson played in 91 games for WVU over the span of three seasons. Johnson, a native of Dallas, Texas, averaged 11.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists during his fifth year of eligibility. Johnson finished his time at West Virginia with a career-high 27 points against Maryland in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Johnsonโ€™s first season at WVU saw him behind current New York Knicks guard Miles โ€œDeuceโ€ McBride. After McBride went to the NBA, Johnson took the keys and started at point guard the following two seasons. Johnson totaled 111 steals during his 61 starts for the Mountaineers.

Before WVU, Johnson played at Temple College in Texas, becoming the nationโ€™s leading scorer in Junior College.

Johnson has been playing professionally in the United Kingdom with the Bristol Flyers. This season, he is averaging 17.5 points, 3.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals.

The TBT returns to West Virginia this year as the 2025 West Virginia Regional will be played in the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center from July 18-23. Charleston previously hosted TBT regionals in 2021 and 2022.
