The WVU basketball program announces the signing of transfer guard Jasper Floyd.

Floyd, a senior, played for Ross Hodge last season as a member of the Mean Green and announced his transfer to WVU on social media Tuesday afternoon.

Floyd (6-foot-3) started all 36 games for UNT last season and averaged 9.0 points, 3.9 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. He was a capable shooter, shooting 34.3% from range and 42.2% overall.

The Florida native played his best for UNT in the postseason, as five of his 12 double-digit scoring outputs came in tournament play. He averaged 14.7 points in North Texasโ€™s run in the NIT. He scored a season-high 23 points in the teamโ€™s season-opener against Evansville, his only 20-point game of the year.

In following Hodge from North Texas to West Virginia, Floyd also rejoins former teammate Brenen Lorient, who officially signed with WVU on Monday.

Before linking up with Hodge at North Texas, Floyd spent one season each at Fairfield, Hillsborough College and Northwest Florida State College. He averaged 14.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game at Hillsborough and then 9.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.3 steals the next season at Fairfield.

At the time of Floydโ€™s commitment, he was WVUโ€™s fifth pickup in the transfer portal this offseason.
