After a steller junior campaign, West Virginia flame throwing pitcher Alek Manoah played himself into the first round of the 2019 MLB First Year Player Draft, as he was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays 11th overall.

He signed with the Blue Jays on June 9th for $4.5 million, which makes him the 8th highest paid draft pick from last months draft, according to Baseball America.
