Grier continues to impress at Panthers camp

After being selected by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, many around the league were questioning the teams future plans with current starting quarterback Cam Newton.
Head coach Ron Rivera has come out and said that the plan is still for Newton to be the guy moving forward, but Grier is performing well at camp and is impressing the coaching staff. “He’s done a couple things where you sit there and you do go, ‘wow.'” Rivera said. “He’s speeding up. He’s getting quicker with everything. He’s made some really good improvements. There’s a realization of how strong he really is,” Rivera told the media.
Below are some of the throws that he had made since camp has opened.

Although Grier is very unlikely to see much playing time this year, he is making the most of his opportunities during camp and if he can translate that into the preseason, it may have the Panthers thinking about him as the future with Newton’s injury history.
