In a joint announcement, WVU Athletics and Nemacolin revealed that the famous Farmington, Penn., resort will be distinguished as the “Official Resort of West Virginia Athletics” moving forward. This is a partnership facilitated by athletics multimedia rights holder Mountaineer Sports Properties.

“Nemacolin is absolutely beautiful and a gem in the Laurel Highlands,” WVU Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker said. “WVU Athletics is so lucky to have Nemacolin almost in our backyard, and we look forward to working with the resort for many years to come. I strongly believe this partnership is a huge win for both sides.”

In addition to its designation as the Official Resort of the Mountaineers, Nemacolin became one of four Gold & Blue Partners – a status reserved for WVU Athletics’ top corporate partners.

A resort like no other, Nemacolin has been creating magical moments in Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands since 1987, and now offers never-ending amenities including accommodations, private lodging, five-star dining, a spa and wellness center, exquisite resort pools, two championship golf courses, an outdoors club featuring fishing and sporting clays, and a casino.

As a Gold & Blue Partner of the Mountaineers, Nemacolin will be featured on field-level signage at Milan Puskar Stadium and will have the ability to use WVU logos and marks in Nemacolin marketing and promotional materials. The Nemacolin brand will also be featured on napkins and cups in all premium areas at West Virginia football and basketball contests.

“At Nemacolin, we are committed to creating exceptional experiences—not only for our guests but also for the future leaders of the hospitality industry. Partnering with West Virginia University and WVU Athletics allows us to support education while celebrating the passion and tradition of Mountaineer sports. This collaboration deepens our connection to the university and the community, and we look forward to seeing it create new opportunities for students and athletes alike.” – Maggie Hardy, Owner & CEO of Nemacolin

In addition to their support of WVU Athletics, Nemacolin also recently contributed a multi-million dollar investment to West Virginia University to provide scholarships and residency internship stipends for Hospitality and Tourism Management students and encourage the growth of the program with new facilities and two new professorships within the John Chambers College of Business and Economics.

“We’re thrilled to have Nemacolin join the Mountaineer family as a Gold & Blue Partner and the Official Resort of WVU Athletics,” said Evan Hawkins, General Manager of Mountaineer Sports Properties. “Their commitment to providing an incredible experience for Mountaineer fans, WVU students and members of the Morgantown and surrounding communities is unmatched.”

Mountaineer Sports Properties, the locally based team of Learfield – the media and technology company powering college sports – is the exclusive multimedia rights holder for West Virginia Athletics and handles all sponsorships, in-venue signage, and advertising on behalf of the Mountaineers.
