Randy Moss Award Winner Cyrus Traugh | WVU Football All 105

All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2025 WVU Football Roster.

Redshirt sophomore wide receiver Cyrus Traugh grew up in Parkersburg, W.Va. and earned the Randy Moss Award as the top high school receiver in the Mountain State as a senior.

WVU Football didn’t offer Traugh during his initial recruiting cycle — although new head Rich Rodriguez did from his position at Jacksonville State — so the six foot tall, 188-pound receiver committed to Youngstown State instead. After playing in two games as a reserve in 2023, Traugh broke into the starting lineup and earned FCS Freshman All-American honors with the Penguins last season.

Now back in his home state, Traugh gives the Mountaineers a quality receiving target with three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Last year: Traugh earned FCS Freshman All-American honors for his performance in 12 games with the Penguins. 

Stats: 36 catches for 409 yards and five touchdowns in 2024 with Youngstown State.

Post camp outlook: Head coach Rich Rodriguez often prioritizes the run game. Talents like Cam Vaughn and Jordan McCants, who played for him at Jacksonville State, and former four-star Rodney Gallagher could take up a majority of the playing time.

Projected role: If Traugh doesn’t lock down a starting role in 2025, he should still see significant snaps as he continues to hone his game.

Accolades, highlights: An AAA All-State honoree during his senior year of high school, Traugh also earned the Randy Moss Award as the top receiver in the state of West Virginia. Building off that, he picked up FCS Freshman All-American honors at Youngstown State.
