Report: WVU-Ohio State to Meet in Cleveland Next December

West Virginia and Ohio State are scheduled to matchup on Dec. 30 in Cleveland, Ohio for a neutral site non-conference game, as first reported by Jon Rothstein. WV Sports Now was able to confirm on Wednesday morning.

WVU and Ohio State have faced off against each other 17 times, with OSU leading the all-time series 9-8. The two last faced off in Cleveland back in 2019, when the Mountaineers defeated the then-No. 2 Buckeyes, 67-59. Freshman guard Miles “Deuce” McBride scored 21 points in his home state to defeat OSU.
West Virginia’s non-conference schedule is headlined by Pitt in the Backyard Brawl, Ohio State in Cleveland, UMass in Springfield, St. John’s in the Big East-Big 12 Battle and the Fort Myers Invitational field which includes Wisconsin, Virginia and SMU.
WVU’s full non-conference has not been officially released yet.
