Rich Rodriguez Reveals New Label, Date for Annual WVU Football Spring Event
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – WVU football head coach Rich Rodriguez kicked off the spring practice period by announcing some news.
No longer being referred to as a a game or even a “showcase” (like it was last year), West Virginia’s event to wrap up spring ball will now be labeled a “festival” and be held on April 18th.
Rodriguez let the cat out of the bag about the label change and the date during his first press conference of the spring on Tuesday, March 3.
He also said that the plan is for a scrimmage to be played, kinda like what was done last year, but to heavily lean on making it a fan-friendly atmosphere. West Virginia hopes to make the annual spring event something fans can look forward to, even if it can’t be exactly like how it was in the past.
Of course, Rodriguez may even be more willing to show more in the scrimmage part of the day since, unlike like last year, there’s no spring transfer portal window for him to be concerned about. His roster will be what it is for the most part at that point.
And as far as the roster goes, he said he has 101 players available to him at the start of the spring practice period.

Fans should plan to get all their celebrating in at this awesome festival and enjoy all the distractions because once the games begin and we have to actually watch the team play football it will be more misery under this bozo.
