Source: WVU G Noah Farrakhan to Enter Transfer Portal

WVU G Noah Farrakhan is expected to officially enter the transfer portal after one season with the Mountaineers, a source within the program tells WV Sports Now and The Portal Report. Farrakhan becomes the eighth transfer departure from last season’s roster.

Farrakhan, a 6-foot-2 guard, joined West Virginia’s team under former head coach Josh Eilert in August. Farrakhan could not play for the first nine games of the year due to a transfer waiver. Farrakhan got on the court vs. UMass on Dec. 16, scoring 15 points in his season debut. Farrakhan went on to average 7.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists through 23 games for the Mountaineers.

Farrakhan has one year of eligibility remaining.

Farrakhan played at Eastern Michigan under head coach Stan Heath for two years. Farrakhan appeared in 31 games for the Eagles, averaging 12.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists. The Hillside, N.J. native shot 43% from the field and 24% from three.

Farrakhan began his collegiate career at East Carolina, committing as a three-star high school recruit. Farrakhan was formerly a five-star recruit at one point while playing at The Patrick School.

WVU Athletics removed Farrakhan from the basketball roster recently. WVU F Ofri Naveh now remains as the only scholarship player remaining from last season’s team.

West Virginia has lost Josiah Harris (F), Seth Wilson (G), Patrick Suemnick (F), Kerr Kriisa (G), Jeremiah Bembry (G), Kobe Johnson (G), Ali Ragab (C) and Farrakhan to the transfer portal so far.

    He is one I would not have minded staying. He’s undersized and a little reckless at times but he with real coaching he could be valuable.
