The Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2) return to Acrisure Stadium to host the AFC South’s Indianapolis Colts (2-2) in a pivotal Week 5 matchup.

The contest hinges on a stark disparity in finishing drives: Indianapolis enters boasting a stellar 75 percent red-zone conversion rate, while Pittsburgh has struggled to a 44.4 percent mark. Individual history is also on the line, as Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is just five passing touchdowns away from tying Peyton Manning for third on the NFL’s all-time list. As both squads look to push their records above .500, capitalizing on critical scoring opportunities will ultimately determine who leaves with an essential conference victory.

Steelers’ Outlook

Pittsburgh comes off a narrow 27-24 road loss to the Cleveland Browns. Despite producing 361 total yards—including 269 passing yards and three touchdowns from Rodgers, who found Roman Wilson, Darnell Washington, and Pat Freiermuth in the end zone—the Steelers were undone by two costly turnovers. Pittsburgh tied the contest late via a Rodgers two-point conversion run, but a 56-yard Cleveland field goal in the final seconds sealed the defeat.

Rodgers continues to direct the offense, averaging 249.8 passing yards and 1.8 touchdowns per game. He relies on running back Jaylen Warren, who anchors the ground attack with 77.25 rushing yards per contest on an explosive 5.62 yards per carry. Pittsburgh’s defense, which has tallied 10 sacks and seven takeaways, must remain disruptive to support an offense monitoring depth running back Rico Dowdle, who is Questionable with a toe injury.

Colts’ Outlook

Under the direction of head coach Shane Steichen, Indianapolis arrives following a decisive 30-13 victory over the Washington Commanders. The Colts’ offense has been highly productive this season, averaging 25.5 points per game and capitalizing on a stellar 75 percent red-zone efficiency rate. However, Steichen’s squad has also been turnover-prone, surrendering the ball eight times to create a -6 turnover differential that Pittsburgh’s opportunistic defense will look to exploit.

Quarterback Daniel Jones leads the attack, averaging 188.5 passing yards and 0.8 touchdowns per game. His primary weapon is running back Jonathan Taylor, who presents a massive ground threat by averaging 88.25 rushing yards and 1.5 touchdowns on 21.5 carries per contest. Defensively, Indianapolis has tallied nine sacks, but the unit must navigate perimeter injury concerns with cornerback Charvarius Ward and receiver Keenan Allen both listed as Questionable.

Spread

Consensus odds list the Pittsburgh Steelers as 2.5-point home favorites with a -145 moneyline, increased from the opening -136 odds. The total dropped significantly, moving from 46.5 down to 43.5. This lower number reflects Pittsburgh’s overall scoring struggles; the offense averages just 18.8 points per game and converts only 44.4 percent of its red-zone opportunities.

  • Aaron Rodgers Over 223.5 Passing Yards (-119): Pittsburgh’s aerial attack has compiled 892 passing yards through four games, giving Rodgers a clear statistical path to the over.
  • Chris Boswell Over 1.5 Field Goals Made (-148): Boswell has converted seven field goals this season because the Steelers’ red-zone drives frequently stall.
