Hubbard (6-foot-5, 335 lbs.) is from Sharpsville Area High School in Sharpsville, Pa. He spent his first collegiate season with Virginia, appearing in two games, while retaining his redshirt status. He played against Pitt and William & Mary, mostly on special teams.
He announced his transfer to WVU in July and was with the team during its training camp.
Hubbard was rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals.com. He picked Virginia over offers from Akron, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Liberty, Louisville, Mississippi State, Ohio, Pitt, Syracuse, Temple, Toledo and Western Michigan.
