Twitter Reaction: Mountaineer Nation Left Confused, Asking Questions About Odd Season
It wasn’t the season any West Virginia fan wanted, but the 2022 season did end with a victory over Oklahoma State. As is always the case, Mountaineer Nation was quick to react on Twitter about the game and season overall.
I think you have to give the @WVUfootball staff and players a lot of credit for finishing the season the way it did to win that game in very difficult conditions with a lot of young players on the field today.

Imagine West Virginia beating both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State (and Baylor) in the same season and having that happen in such a disappointing season. That's the reality of 2022 for the Mountaineers.

Great win to go out. Proud of the guys for playing hard.
Let’s go Mountaineers 💛💙— Kpro (@Kpro1984) November 26, 2022
WTF even was this season? Like seriously…WTF? @WVUfootball
Also, please for the love of God #FireNealBrown. I really can't do another year of this…

Happy for Neal Brown and the WVU football team. They didn’t give up and played hard.
Such a weird season. Whatever happens will happen but at least they didn’t give up.— Jon DeGroff (@JonDeGroff) November 26, 2022
In a cold down pour, with nothing to play for, on the road, this team played their ass off. This is the stuff that strong foundations are built on. Thank you @WVUfootball #WVU #HailWV

The same people who were predicting 8+ wins for WVU because of the addition of JT Daniels…are the same people who were then arguing Garrett Greene should have started all season once he came in and sparked the offense…and are now saying Nicco Marchiol maybe should be the guy.

If I would have told you at the beginning of the year @WVUfootball would have:
• Took home the Black Diamond Trophy
• Beat Baylor & Oklahoma
• Go to Stillwater & beat them for the 1st time since 2014…I would tell you we would be in the same position as TCU is in right now

WVU closes with a win, but has 3 rd losing season in four years.

So, is anyone else going into the off season as confused as I am over WVU football? pic.twitter.com/YfVEKewVeK
