2023 PF JaQualon “JQ” Roberts received an offer from West Virginia on Friday night. Roberts is a talented two-way player out of Bloomington, IN.

WVU assistant Ron Everhart was in contact with Roberts.

“Blessed to receive an offer from West Virginia! Thank you to coach Bob Huggins, coach Ron Everhart and the rest of the coaching staff for the opportunity! #GoMountaineers,” Roberts wrote on Twitter.

Roberts (6-foot-8, 205 pounds) is currently a rising senior at Bloomington North High School. During his junior season, Roberts averaged 14.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 in 28 games. Roberts also plays for Indiana Elite, one of the best AAU programs in the country.

The Indiana forward has not been officially ranked by the basketball recruiting sites but has many offers from each level. Roberts has received offers from Akron, Bradley, Butler, Evansville, IUPUI, Indiana, Indiana State, Iowa, Marquette, UMass, Miami (OH), Northern Illinois, Stetson, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. Roberts has been on official visits to Cincinnati, Utah and Xavier as well.

Roberts’ game is very versatile. The high school recruit can dominate in the paint, shooting 52 percent from the field. Roberts can get up and throw it down with force. The Indiana native can also stretch the floor, shooting 38 percent from three and plays great defense.

West Virginia currently does not have any commits for the class of 2023. Current Mountaineer forward James Okonkwo was a member before reclassifying two classes up. WVU’s coaching staff most recently offered 2023 JUCO PF Jaquan Scott on Thursday. Scott currently plays at Salt Lake CC in Utah and averaged 8.2 points and 4.9 rebounds in 29 games. The Dallas native shot 48 percent from the field as a freshman.
