Watch: Wheeling Nailers to WVU HC Neal Brown: ‘You Sure About That?’

“You sure about that?” That’s what the Wheeling Nailers are now asking WVU football head coach Neal Brown.

In a funny response to Brown saying there are no pro sports in West Virginia during Big 12 Media Days as a reason why the people of the state love the Mountaineers so much, the Nailers tweeted a video with the clip and then following it up with someone cutting in and offering “you sure about that?” with a smirk expression.

It’s doubtful Brown meant the comment as any slight to the minor league hockey franchise and was likely referring to the fact West Virginia doesn’t have any major professional teams in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, WNBA etc. With that said, the Nailers are right as well.

The Wheeling Nailers are part of the ECHL and an affiliate of the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins, a professional franchise many West Virginians root for.
