West Virginia Misses Out on ASU-Bound Luther Muhammad

For the second time in two weeks, West Virginia has missed out on a transfer target.

Ohio State guard Luther Muhammad announced yesterday that he will be transferring to Arizona State.

It was reported that Muhammad also had interest in transferring to Seton Hall, UCLA, West Virginia and New Mexico but ultimately chose the Sun Devils.

Muhammad averaged 7.0 points and 2.3 rebounds this past season, with a 1.2 assist to turnover ratio. He shot 37.4% from the floor and 37.5% from three.

West Virginia has one available scholarship spot available for next season. On Monday WVU coach Bob Huggins said he is looking for a player that would be the perfect fit with his current group or else he is content just not filling the spot.

So far this offseason WVU has missed out on a couple of potential transfer players, Muhammad and former Radford guard Carlik Jones who transferred to Louisville.
