WVU Football Recruiting
Which Members of the WVU Football 2024 Class Will Enroll Early?
Similar to last year, the WVU football program will have the benefit of being able to acclimate core incoming freshmen as early as possible.
During his press conference to discuss his 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday, head coach said that seven of his 22 signees will be enrolling early.
The players who will be on campus early are listed below.
- DB Israel Boyce
- DL Nate Gabriel
- DB Zae Jennings
- DL Elijah Kinsler
- EDGE Obinna Onwuka
- TE Jack Sammarco
- QB Khalil Wilkins
These aren’t just any players, but some of the highest rated recruits who are expected to have an immediate impact. The only early enrollee who the coaching staff is not planning to utilize next season is quarterback Khalil Wilkins. Brown called him a project prospect, which makes sense to have when you still have more eligibility remaining for starter Garrett Greene.
WVU HC Neal Brown Offers Thoughts on Signees from 2024 Class
Brown also talked about his mindset in recruiting and how he’s had to adjust his strategy over the years. He said he classifies a “local” recruit as a player within a six-hour radius of Morgantown. 16 of the 22 recruits who signed on National Signing Day fit into that distance.
WVU HC Neal Brown highlights knocking out local area (he classifies that as 6 hour radius). He says he considers 16 of 22 players as “local” recruits.
