Who’s Available in Transfer Portal for WVU Basketball?

West Virginia has seen a few departures over the past week after Bob Huggins resigned two weekends ago. WVU interim head coach Josh Eilert has stepped in and now has to retool a once-filled roster.

As of Wednesday morning, WVU has four scholarship spots to fill. According to The Portal Report’s database, there are roughly 500 players still without a home in the transfer portal. Let’s take a look at who they’ve looked at and who else notably is available.

Who WVU has recruited currently in portal:

Paul Mulcahy | Grad. | G | Rutgers

8.3 PTS, 3.6 REB, 4.9 AST

Alexis Yetna | Grad. | F | Seton Hall

8.1 PTS, 7.6 REB, 40% FG (2021-22 stats)

WVU’s staff contacted Mulcahy earlier in the month and have remained in contact with the Rutgers transfer. Yetna visited West Virginia three weekends ago and also visited Ole Miss this month.

Toussaint entered the transfer portal last Friday and has two visits scheduled to Kansas State and Texas Tech. Gonzaga and Alabama are other schools pursuing Toussaint.

Wague has been contacted by many Power-5 programs. The Mali native has visits scheduled to Kansas State and DePaul.
