WVU Baseball fell 14-5 at BYU late Thursday night, their Big 12 record falling to 2-3 in the process (20-4 overall). The Mountaineers leapt out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning as Chase Swain and Brodie Kresser each knocked in two runs, but the Cougars scored four runs against West Virginia starter Griffin Kirn, then punished the bullpen for ten more unanswered runs.

Ben Lumsden doubled in a run with two outs in the ninth, too late for the Mountaineers to author a double-digit comeback.
