To replace its series-finale against Miami (Ohio) that was originally scheduled for Sunday, the West Virginia baseball team has added a doubleheader against Dayton to its schedule, WVU announced Friday.

The Mountaineers and Red Hawks were originally scheduled to conclude their three-game series with the finale on Sunday, however, a change with Miami’s schedule led to the game being called off. Similarly, Dayton had a four-game series against VCU originally scheduled for this weekend canceled, opening the opportunity to travel to Morgantown on Sunday.

The Flyers are 18-23 this season, 8-4 in A-10 play. They have played just four games since April 20, winning all four against Richmond, due to postponements and cancelations. WVU’s schedule for this weekend now includes four games, against Miami Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m. and the doubleheader against Dayton beginning at noon on Sunday. All four games will be played at Mon Country Ballpark, extending WVU’s current homestand to 12 games.

WVU will still celebrate Senior Day prior to Saturday’s game, honoring seniors Kevin Brophy, Jackson Wolf, Hudson Byorick, Paul McIntosh and Tyler Doanes.
