The Mountaineers will now only play two games this weekend as West Virginia announced Thursday that the team’s series finale against Miami (Ohio) scheduled for Sunday has been canceled. The cancelation is due to a scheduling change made by Miami, according to WVU.

The two teams will now play just a two-game series beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Mon County Ballpark. Game two starts at 4 p.m. Saturday and will now serve as WVU’s senior day. Five senior student-athletes will be honored prior to Saturday’s game; Tyler Doanes, Jackson Wolf, Paul McIntosh, Hudson Byorick and Kevin Brophy.

WVU is 18-23 this season, 7-14 in Big 12 play, and coming off a 4-1 victory over in-state rival Marshall on Tuesday. Miami is 21-22, 14-15 in MAC play.
