Former Mountaineer Victor Scott II has been named a Minor League All-Star by Baseball America.

Scott gets a spot on the second-team for his brilliance as a hitter and on the base pads throughout both High-A and Double-A within the St. Louis Cardinals organization.

The WVU baseball program congratulated Scott on social media on Thursday after hearing the news.

In his first full professional season, Scott shared the lead throughout all of Minor League Baseball with 94 stolen bases. But Scott’s speed is not the only reason he earned the honor of being named an All-Star. He hit .303 with nine home runs, 20 doubles, 10 triples, 63 RBI, and 95 runs scored.

Scott recorded one hit and stole two bases in the MLB Futures Games this past July in Seattle.

Watch Scott explain how he ended up spending his college days at WVU in the post below.
