WVU Basketball G Treysen Eaglestaff to Enter Transfer Portal
WVU basketball guard Treysen Eaglestaff is entering his name into the transfer portal, per Joe Tipton in a post to X.
Eaglestaff leaves after just one year with WVU, averaging 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. His decision comes on light of a preliminary injunction being granted to high school class of 2022 athletes, giving them an extra year of eligibility.
Eaglestaff’s lone season was less than many Mountaineer fans expected, as he averaged 18.9 points per game in his final season with North Dakota. His best performances at WVU came against Xavier, Mississippi Valley State and Arizona State, where he scored 23 points in each game.
WVU basketball just graduated five players from the high school class of 2022: forward Brenen Lorient, center Harlan Obioha, guard Honor Huff, Eaglestaff and guard Jasper Floyd.
WVU basketball has one remaining roster spot for the 2026-27 season.

No real loss. He was massively overrated. He proved to be overmatched physically and a defensive liability with limited ability to score in the Big 12. We might not even have a roster spot for him and even if Lorient also transfers and there is a spot, Eaglestaff would be deep in the rotation if this team is as strong as everyone says.

lots of hipe on this team,, let’s play some good teams and then we’ll knowif ross is just another over rated hc…. i hope he isn’t over rated,, i’ll give him this and next yr,,, but wren has to come up with some big bucks for him to buy some talent… if ross could land 3 really talented players it would help

Well, he landed Miles Sadler & from all accounts, he is a cant miss, generational talent & all signs point to the 5-star power forward from Sadlers high school team, is a crystal ball
