WVU Football Books 2026 Michigan ATH for OV Soon After Offer

A versatile athlete from the middle of traditional Big Ten country announces his upcoming visit to West Virginia. The WVU football staff has 2026 recruit Samson Gash booked for an official visit in early June.

Gash revealed his visit is scheduled for the weekend of June 6-8 on Saturday by posting a graphic on X (formerly Twitter).

Listed at 6-foot and 180 pounds, Gash is considered a three-star prospect out of Catholic Central High School in Novi, Mich. He was named a first-team all-state for the 2024 season for totaling 1,700 yards and scoring 21 touchdowns.

Despite his massive production as a wide receiver, some national recruiting services view Gash as a defensive back at the college level. He’s ranked as the No. 16 Michigan player by 247 Sports. It appears West Virginia sees Gash as more of a wide receiver based on WVU wide receivers coach Ryan Garrett being his leader recruiter.

Gash, who just received WVU’s official interest recently on May 14, has offers from Cincinnati, Michigan State, Illinois, Kent State, Marshall, Miami (OH), Ohio, Purdue, Temple, Toledo Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.

He’s also spent time getting to know the coaches at Michigan, Northwestern, Pitt, Virginia and Wisconsin.
