Is WVU trying to find another overlooked player from Georgia Southern? Anthony Wilson worked out, but what about Marc Stampley II?

West Virginia sent Stampley an offer on Friday, adding the transfer defensive back to the list of players they are hoping can help repair the secondary. He’s been officially in the transfer portal since Dec. 24.

Stampley, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound junior, was an All-Sun Belt second team player in 2024. He recorded 44 total tackles with 10 pass deflections, three interceptions and a forced fumble.

While he was involved in more splash plays in 2024, Stampley actually made more tackles in 2023 with 56.

As a recruit, Stampley was regarded as a consensus top 150 safety in the country out of Starr’s Mill High School in Peachtree City, Ga.
