The news of Pat White returning to WVU to join Rich Rodriguez’s staff spread like crazy all over social media. Fans, notable alums and other prominent figures voiced their support of the Mountaineer legend being back home.

But what about those involved with the current team? Below shows the reaction from current players and coaches after West Virginia’s official announcement.

Coaches Blaine Stewart, Michael Nysewander, Rhett Rodriguez, who technically seres as the quarterback coach above White on the staff, Travis Trickett and William Green all also reposted posts on X (formerly Twitter) from WVU about White.ย

As revealed in WVUโ€™s press release, White will hold the title of assistant quarterbacks coach/assistant to the head coach.

Rodriguez even shared his own thoughts about adding White to his staff.

โ€œItโ€™s really special to welcome Pat White back to Morgantown as a member of our football coaching staff,โ€ Rodriguez said about bringing White home. โ€œHe has been involved in some of the biggest wins in program history, and he will be a great presence in our quarterback room. Pat and I have been through so much together, and I am really proud of the quality of coach and mentor to young players that he has become.โ€
